[Photo Update] (Positive) 11/23/25 ***EXPERIENCE 1*** (Positive) 09/22/25 This restaurant has the layout, and feel of Japanese restaurants from days gone by. However, at the same time, it's very modern and stylish. I entered with my Mom, and we were immediately greeted and seated. Our server was very friendly and had a great personality. It turns out he was very knowledgeable as well. I ordered the Salmon Shioyaki Entree, and Mom ordered the Miso Marinated Black Cod Entree. The Entrees come with Soup & Salad. The salad was subtly flavorful. With the greens, vegetables, crunchy topping, and dressing combining to create a delicious starting salad. The Miso Soup was very flavorful, and well balanced. They were both wonderful ways to start a meal. My Salmon Shioyaki was incredible. The Shio (Salt), enhances the natural flavor of the Salmon, and helps in browning, and creating crispy tasty salmon skin. The flesh was firm, yet tender and flaky. Just a squeeze of lemon, and it was perfection exemplified. The accompaniments, and rice, along with the delicious mixed Vegetables made it a complete meal. I had a taste of the Miso Black Cod. The glazed Miso flavor was undeniable, as the Black Cod melted in my mouth, ending in deliciousness. A Japanese meal embodies that the sum of all parts, equals the whole. The Entrees here are examples of that philosophy. The prices here are well worth it, considering what you get. The whole staff here is very friendly. Our server helped make our dining experience fantastic. We hope to see him again. We will be back,

Love this place! I've only been during dinner time and it can get pretty busy. Recommend you make a reservation. The staff is great! The food is fabulous! I love the Robert roll and the Northridge roll (not on menu). Fresh & delicious. Even their drinking water is good!!

Food was neatly packaged ( we got food to go). The grilled salmon is very good, while the salmon skin salad is quite tasty but with really tiny pieces. One sore point is that whenever we order, we cannot pick it up for at least another 90 mins! Upon getting there, service felt like, "don't look inside or try to go any further, just pay and go since you're only getting to go", so I don't know what inside looks like but people were seated outside and seemed satisfied. I would not describe it as a quiet place.

Great place, very consistent with the quality of fish. Please go check out Jesus with his recommendations of substituting certain fishes in certain rolls. This place craps on the Katsu-Ya off topanga. Came here for my birthday and I left like a happy man. Shoutout Jesus!!! Only complaint is the parking in the plaza but what can you do

The original restaurant where Chef Katsuya created his magical special dishes and once helmed the sushi bar when it was a sushiya called "Kabuki". He came back later with all his success and bought the restaurant after the owner passed away and put his name on it. The menu pricing has been kept low so there is incredible value here. Crispy rice w/ spicy tuna, seared albacore w/ crispy onion are a must. Also very much like the 4 1/2 roll, Robert roll, salmon sashimi w/ caviar, and the best spicy tuna cut roll in the business.

Not only is the food delicious, but the presentation is quite nice. Of course the sushi here is fabulous, but don't limit yourself because you truly can't go wrong with other menu items. Personally, I'm a fan of their shrimp and vegetable tempura. The portions are generous and the coating is so light and tasty. I dropped one star on atmosphere because the interior is a bit underwhelming with tight, limited seating. It's totally worth the wait.

Great sushi spot! The food was fresh and well prepared alongside being full of flavour. Price point was reasonable and staff friendly. Has both indoor and outdoor seating, outdoor seating is shaded. Lots of choice of rolls alongside specials.

We sat at the sushi bar, next to an obnoxious lady and her husband, that pretty much ruined the experience. She kept distracting our sushi chef Martin, which he had to pause several times while he was preparing our orders just to respond to her. In addition, she kept staring at us, which made us uncomfortable. She made a comment about the sweet shrimp we ordered being previously frozen, to which she said “oh so it’s not good then,” however it was very good, and she kept staring right at me and our order. However, the food and service were great. Martin kept checking in on us, which we appreciated. I acknowledge that it’s not at all the restaurant’s fault for this lady’s behavior, and I’m hoping if we return, she won’t be there.
